Here’s an illustration from the picture book that didn’t make it into the final version. The decision was made that the book could use some more adventure. In this picture the seven dwarfs who until recently had taken care of Snow White were writing a letter to Bregje to ask her to live with them (instead of her horrible mother). The concern was that this way she would seem rather passive (especially in combination with the other letters). We exchanged it with Bregje going off to the jungles of Peru to discover a new species of monkeys.
There were a couple of other changes like this, but this fortunately was the only spread that was replaced.

A fun little exercise just to enjoy looking at shapes and pattern and all sorts of cute little monsters.
